Christopher Prins
Director of the School of Music (Dbl Maj. BA (Hons)
Hi Everyone Christopher Prins here! I have been a full-time professional Music Teacher and local small-business Owner at New OpporTUNEities Studio for 14 years, teaching guitar, drums, ukulele and bass guitar. I also have the enormous privilege of being the Director of Music Ministry at Good Friends Church at the Uptown Theatre along with my (Beautiful) Wife Becki Prins! :). I know and love many of you already and look forward to meeting new faces as I once again return to OCS to teach private music lessons during school hours as part of the OCS School of Music! I am committed to assisting the training up a new generation of musician warriors who can support their local body of Christ through their giftings. My twins Darian and Roxie attend OCS in grade 4 and I have a new baby boy expected September 2021! Above all else, Christ is King and I am a blessed man.  Â

Leah Ashby
Music Teacher
Hi my name is Leah Ashby, I am a music and arts instructor and have 15 years of teaching experience. I am a passionate and relational teacher that prides myself in my career. When working with music and education I come alive in the classroom. I am very creative, energetic and an artistic foundations specialist through the RCM where I am able to create solid and successful music programs. I have been honored with a Canadian 150 award for my private music teaching accomplishments. I have successfully owned 2 music academies, one “The Art of Music Academy” in Brantford, Ontario and now currently Crave Arts Academy in Alliston, Ontario.
As a Successful Entrepreneur, I wear many hats and have the energy to manage my schedule and adapt to the needs of each student and their abilities. Teaching is my dream job, there’s nothing better than teaching music education in my eyes. To see the confidence in my students as they achieve weekly goals, take center stage with their performance, and work hard to create great things at their individual level. I feel a sense of pride enjoying all their accomplishments. I believe in meeting each child where they are at and developing instruction for individual success.
I am thrilled to be a part of your school and can’t wait to enjoy all my new students’ accomplishments and share my praise and worship through piano and vocal instruction. Growing up in the Church, music was always the way I felt most inspired and connected to God, to use my musical gifts and enjoyment is clearly my journey in this life. I have enjoyed years of creating “Messy Church” events combining art and music and I can’t wait to share all my passions and years of musical enjoyment and experience with all the families at Orangeville Christian School.
