The students and staff at Orangeville Christian School received an early Christmas present this week. Our grade 7 & 8 students gathered all their books, supplies and indoor shoes and moved from the school gymnasium and computer room to their newly completed portables on Monday, December 16, 2019. To celebrate their new surroundings, the students decorated their new classroom and indulged in a wide variety of Christmas treats.
The arrival of our Occupancy Permit on Friday, December 13, 2019 is the realization of the dedicated and extraordinary efforts of our Expansion Committee. The work that began in November 2018 has finally culminated in the festive celebrations of our intermediate students.
On behalf of our entire school community, I would like to thank the Board for their visionary leadership and the Expansion Committee for their commitment to making this important part of our vision a reality. Due to the efforts of Sarah Morrell, Sarah Mailhot and Jesse Grin, Orangeville Christian School has now grown from six to eight classrooms and through them, God has provided more room for our growing student population. God is indeed very good!
God’s gracious provision of portables reminds me of the words in Genesis 26:22: “He named it Rehoboth saying, ‘Now the LORD has given us room and we will flourish in the land.'”. God has made room at Orangeville Christian School and our prayer is that He will continue to have us flourish.
