A SPORTS TEAM NAME & LOGO CREATED BY OUR COMMUNITY
To commemorate our 40th anniversary, our support community and board of directors have voted on the school’s first sports team name – the Orangeville Warriors.
The selection of our new sports name is the result of a community team effort. After receiving many suggestions through social media, our students voted on their favourite sport name. Following the results of our students voting, the final nominations were narrowed to three. The remaining three names were shared again with our support community on social media and the winning entry was approved by the OCS board of directors. We are very excited that our sports teams now have a new name that reflects our determination, competitiveness and grit.

The creation of our new sports logo is the result of a community team effort as well. The initial pencil drawings for our new sports logo design come from David Schenk, a grade twelve student at Brampton Christian School. These sketches were professionally transformed into a digitally mastered logo by Jamie Spurrell, current OCS parent and President & CEO of Fheba Design (www.fhebadesign.com). We are very happy with our new sports team logo and we are excited to share it with our school community.

All our students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of school teams throughout the school year. Our sports teams represent OCS in various tournaments in many different locations around the GTA. Our students are involved in a busy season that includes a wide range of sports.
Orangeville Christian School is a member of the Toronto North District Christian Sports Association along with Christian schools from Owen Sound, Orillia, Barrie, Newmarket and Alliston. This year, OCS also joined the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) Sports Activities, which includes many other Christian schools in Southern Ontario.
